High Edinburgh, we're back!

BACKGROUND

Edinburgh Zoo is owned by The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS). The Society was founded in March 1909, and the Zoo opened in July 1913. The Zoo is situated three miles to the west of Edinburgh city centre and houses 1,000 rare and endangered animals. Its sister attraction, the Highland Wildlife Park is a 105-hectare safari park and zoo located within the Cairngorms National Park, near Kingussie.

In the Summer of 2021 giraffes returned to the Zoo after a 15 year absence. The attraction welcomed Ronnie, Arrow, Gerald, Fennessy and Gilbert to form an all male bachelor herd.

OBJECTIVE

To create a campaign celebrating the return of giraffes to Edinburgh Zoo, highlighting the giraffes astonishing features (including height) as something that brings new life and excitement to the city.

WHAT WE DID

We developed a multi-channel campaign based around the concept of ‘High Edinburgh’ with the giraffes towering over the city skyline. The campaign was rolled out across a wide range of media, highlights included a special build billboard and signage, radio ad and a giraffe print bus wrap.
