Panda Enclosure campaign
BACKGROUND
Edinburgh Zoo is owned by The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS). The Society was founded in March 1909, and the Zoo opened in July 1913. The Zoo is situated three miles to the west of Edinburgh city centre. It houses 1,000 rare and endangered animals including a pair of Giant Pandas.
The pandas, Tian Tian and Yang Guang recently moved home to a new quieter and more natural setting on the site.
OBJECTIVE
Communicate the panda relocation in a fun, light hearted manner encouraging families to visit over the half term break.
WHAT WE DID
After presenting a number of creative routes, the 'en-suite bamboo' concept was taken forward. We used a high impact combination of bright green to contrast with the panda imagery. The soft, rounded typography was chosen to echo the friendly appeal of the animals. The campaign was rolled out across outdoor, social and online advertising.
